Shared Google Doc Lesson Framework
Topic Description:
This shared Google Doc activity focuses on Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None. In this activity, students will read the poem "Ten Little Soldiers" and make predictions as to which character the described death will be associated with. Prior to this lesson, students have read the opening chapters and participated in a few character analysis/mapping activities. This shared Google Doc will serve as a small group discussion starter, as pairs discuss with other pairs how their predictions were alike or different. This lesson is also an introduction to the poem "Ten Little Soldiers" and its role in the novel's conflict.

The first step in this shared Google Doc activity is for students to get into pairs and for one student to share the following Doc with another. Following this stage, each student will read the "Ten Little Soldiers" poem individually and write their predictions on the Google Doc. Each column has its own distinctive color so that students will be able to easily see and comprehend the differences in their predictions. Following their predictions, students will discuss their predictions in pairs. Then, as a pair, students will discuss their predictions with another pair. (Students will be given the option of sharing their shared Google Doc with the other pair to foster a stronger discussion.)
