- Background: Students have read through chapter 25 of To Kill a Mockingbird and completed various plot, character, and thematic analysis activities.

Objectives:

- Drill & Practice: Kahoot! (Drill & Practice game assigning meaning to everyday symbols - recycling arrows, four-leaf clover, etc.)

- Foldable Craft Supplies (Scissors, Glue, and Writing Utensil)

Students will:
- Discuss the idea of symbols or images representing a larger idea. Relate discussion to everyday symbols like a heart or cross.
- Login to Google Chromebooks and Google accounts.
- View teacher model on accessing correct assignment in Google Classroom.
- Access Google Classroom on Google Chromebooks.
- Click Edpuzzle video (tutorial) link posted to assignment board.
- View Edpuzzle video (tutorial) and answer incorporated video question.
- View teacher model on accessing correct discussion board in Google Classroom.
- Craft video summary statement after watching Edpuzzle video (tutorial). [Summary statement should be no more than 5 sentences about video's contents and lesson takeaways.]
- Submit video summary statement to Google Classroom Symbolism Discussion Board.
- View teacher model on accessing Kahoot! game.
- Log in to Kahoot! (drill & practice) symbolism game using game pin.
- Compete with classmates to assign meaning to everyday symbols in Kahoot! (drill & practice).
- Discuss the following symbols and their meaning in small groups: mockingbird, mad dog, camellia, azalea, geranium, & Radley house.
- View teacher model of correctly completed foldable analysis response.
- Create (fold, cut, & glue) foldable analysis response in student ISNs (individually).
